Terms of Service

TransferMyCloud moves files between cloud storage services on your instruction. These terms govern your use of the service. By creating an account or starting a transfer as a guest, you accept them.

1. The service is in beta

The service is offered in a beta state. Features may change or be withdrawn, and interruptions should be expected. No availability or durability commitment is made on the free tiers.

2. Storage is temporary unless you pay for it

Files held in My Cloud under the Free Beta plan are stored on temporary storage and are deleted 7 to 30 days after upload. This is a product limit, not a fault. Do not use the free tier as your only copy of anything.

Paid plans store files for as long as the subscription is active. When a subscription ends, the account becomes read-only if it is over the free quota: for 30 days you may still download, transfer out and delete files. After that period files may be archived or deleted.

We choose where your files are physically stored, and that may include storage we rent from a third party — today, accounts we hold with Pan Baidu, on infrastructure in China. It is our operational decision rather than a setting you pick, and you cannot opt out of it while keeping the account. The retention above applies wherever the file sits. See the privacy policy for who processes your data and under whose law.

3. Credits are not money

Transfers are paid for with service credits. Credits exist solely to buy services on TransferMyCloud. They:

  • cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for cash;
  • cannot be transferred to another user;
  • do not earn interest; and
  • are not a deposit, stored-value instrument, or payment account.

Every balance change is recorded in an append-only ledger visible on your Credits page. Refund handling is described in the Refund Policy.

4. What you may not transfer

You are responsible for the content you move and for holding the rights to move it. You may not use the service to transfer, store or distribute material that:

  • infringes copyright or any other intellectual property right;
  • is unlawful, or depicts the abuse or exploitation of children;
  • contains malware or is intended to compromise systems; or
  • you obtained without authorisation from the account or service it came from.

Rights holders may submit takedown requests under our DMCA policy. Accounts that repeatedly infringe are terminated.

5. Source services are not ours

When you supply a share link or connect a destination, you instruct us to act on your behalf against a third-party service. You are responsible for complying with that service’s own terms. We do not control those services and cannot guarantee that a source will remain available or that a destination will accept a transfer.

6. Your connected accounts

Credentials you provide for destinations are encrypted at rest and used only to carry out transfers you request. You may disconnect a destination at any time. We recommend scoping keys to a single bucket or folder with write access only.

7. Fair use and limits

Per-plan limits on file size, transfer count, concurrency and speed are published on the pricing page and may be adjusted. We may throttle, queue or suspend activity that threatens the stability of the service or that circumvents the limits of a plan.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, with notice where practical and immediately where the breach is serious. On termination for breach, remaining credits are forfeited.

9. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for loss of data on tiers that are documented as temporary.

10. Changes

We may amend these terms. Material changes will be announced in the product before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date constitutes acceptance.
